Statement: This mixed-media artwork explores girlhood through four female figures dancing together in dress-up clothes beneath a pastel sky. Created with acrylic paint, colored pencil, and paper cut-outs, the figures are adorned with glass bead accessories that add texture and playfulness. In the background, the Venus de Milo symbolizes femininity and womanhood, while four doves flying overhead represent freedom, spirituality, and the divine feminine.

I drew off nostalgic elements from my own childhood, such as Barbie dolls, dress-up hats, and ballet. This whimsical world reflects imagination, connection, and growth. I would like the viewer to recognize the cyclical relationship between childhood and adulthood, and how memories and play influence who we become. The work suggests that we never truly leave childhood behind, as long as we continue to foster and share the magic that was once created for us.
